Simplified Customs Transit (DTA-S) was carried out by Multilog in Campinas (SP)
As proof that it is possible to reduce the bureaucracy of the processes, one of the largest logistics players in Brazil concluded an operation with cargo from the hospital segment in less than 24 hours during the weekend. The Simplified Customs Transit (DTA-S) was carried out at the Viracopos airport with automatic seal and unseal for the Multilog Campinas unit.
The cargo arrived during the night, and procedures needed to be carried out during the middle of the night. The transfer was made in a special transport and included a specific aeronautical lifting operation, escort and monitoring by a company specialized in cryogenics to ensure the integrity of the Magnetic Resonance equipment. The transport of the goods lasted less than 20 minutes, due to the proximity of the Multilog Campinas Unit to Viracopos Airport.
In addition to being quick, the operation was marked by an 80% reduction in the handling/terminal handling costs. “In addition to carrying out the operation in a short time, maintaining the status update during the process and following all safety and quality criteria, we are still able to provide high savings for the clients. With that, we can see that shipments no longer need to be “held” at the source and that weekend removal operations are already a reality”, says Multilog's Southeastern Business Development Manager, Herbert Zacatei.
Cargo handling in less than 24 hours, including on weekends, became possible in the region about four months ago, when Multilog became the first operator in the country to receive authorization to use the benefit of Ordinance no. 97 that allows the Simplified Customs Transit (DTA-S) from Viracopos Airport to the Logistics and Industrial Customs Center (CLIA) in Campinas (SP).
